Speaker Biography - Jo Chau (Vancouver, British Columbia)

Masters Candidate, Department of Wood Science, UBC

Jo Chau, a Masters student at the University of British Columbia (UBC) in the Department of Wood Science, joined the Biomass and Bioenergy Research Group in May 2006. Her research focus is on wood biomass utilization for heating industrial greenhouses. Jo has completed a techno-economic analysis of wood biomass boilers for the greenhouse industry. She also developed a Linear Programming model to determine the optimal mix of wood biomass for providing heat to the greenhouses in an economic and environmental friendly way.
