Speaker Biography - Shahab Sokhansanj (Vancouver, British Columbia)

Dr. Shahab Sokhansanj is a registered professional agricultural engineer in BC. He served on engineering faculty at the University of Saskatchewan for 21 years where he is now holds a Professor Emeritus title. Currently Dr. Sokhansanj is an off site Employee of the Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) as a Distinguished Research Scientist specializing in biomass preprocessing and supply logistics. Dr. Sokhansanj resides in Vancouver and holds an Adjunct Professor appointment in Chemical & Biological Engineering at UBC. He is the founder of and currently directs the Biomass and Bioenergy Research Group at UBC. Members of the Group are a group multidisciplinary professional from academia, industry, associations, and governments. Dr. Sokhansanj is a Fellow of Canadian Society for Bioenegineering and served as its President for 2006-2007.
